Confidence is key

Success! Raminta is back at work after more than four years

After struggling to find work for more than four years, Raminta Smilgiene, 40, is celebrating job success after being supported by the Restart Scheme.

In Bexley, Maximus are working in partnership with Bexley Business & Employment who supported Raminta to find work.

In 2018, Raminta had to leave her previous role in administration after relocating to Bexley.

She found finding employment during the Covid-19 pandemic difficult and began experiencing mental health issues and a lack of confidence. After being referred to the scheme in July, Raminta met with her Employment Advisor, Georgia Wood, and quickly established a close relationship.

Georgia explained: “Raminta was feeling very low when she first joined the scheme, so we worked hard to build her confidence to give her the self-belief she needed.”

Raminta took part in confidence building sessions held at the Bexley office and worked closely with Georgia to improve her CV and job-searching skills.

Georgia described Raminta’s development: “Raminta has learnt so much during our regular meetings.  The development of her skills is remarkable!”

For Raminta, the support was invaluable: “The Restart Scheme offered a brilliant service! They helped so much with the job search and finding a new job. My mental health and confidence have improved.”

After seven months of support, Raminta secured a role as a Medical Assistant at a local medical centre.

Georgia described her pride in Raminta: “It has been lovely to see Raminta progress and grow into a confident and happy individual. I’m so happy to see her doing well in her new position!”
